Nick liksom jag sitter här i Sunny Bit San Pancho på Mexikos västkustlinje, liksom vi inte kunde känna sig borta från de normala jultraditionerna i Kanada. Januari – mars (Kanada/Mexiko)
I två veckor var vi fortfarande i Kanada och firade semestern med kompisar såväl som familjen. Men kom i mitten av januari, vi åkte till Mexiko! Detta var vår allra första gång som band på våra ryggsäckar och på väg söderut från Kanada-förutom ett par allomfattande helgdagar när vi var yngre, var alla Latinamerika fortfarande ofärgade på vår resekarta.
Vi började i Cancun där vi nöjde oss med en gammal resevän till oss, Bernie. Tillsammans utforskade vi och tyckte om vår tid tillsammans i ungefär en vecka innan vi delade vägar. Vi var på väg att resa runt. Vi kollade Holbox Island, Valladolid, Rio Lagartos, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Merida, Dzibilchaltun, Progresso, Izamal, Palenque, San Cristobal samt slutligen Chetumal.
Mexiko! Vi gjorde några fantastiska saker under våra två månader där
Efter att ha kontrollerat många gamla koloniala städer, kolla in gamla ruiner, smuttat på magnifikt regionalt kaffe, tillfredsställa extraordinära människor samt äta metod samt massor av välsmakande rätter att räkna, var det dags att lämna Mexiko. Vi gick ombord på en båt som skulle ta oss från Chetumal till Belize!
Mars (Belize)
Den andra halvan av mars tillbringades lazing på orörda stränder på norra öarna i Belize. Vi tillbringade vår tid på Caye Caulker såväl som Ambergris Caye och gillade dem. Vi blev inbjudna att bo på Victoria House, som var en härlig, pittoreska utväg på en lugn strand. Även om vi gillade den lyxen, gillade vi verkligen kyla ut på Caye Caulker mycket mer än Ambergris Caye! Vi stannade i ett par bedårande bitbungalows, åkte på en båttur för att se manater, såg några extraordinära solnedgångar och tyckte om de regionala restaurangerna.

April – juni (Grenada)
Grenada var vad vi verkligen hoppades att det skulle bli så bra som mer. Vi accepterade vår allra första husdjurssittande uppgift här samt upptäckte oss själva i ett tropiskt paradis som tog hand om den sötaste husdjurshunden någonsin. Vi stannade i en bit stuga ideal vid havet och tyckte om freden och fredliga av bostäder eller kommersiella fastigheter vi bodde på. Dagar spenderades med att kolla in öns många stränder, vattenfall och vandringar.

We then had 7 weeks when the owners were house as well as our services were no longer required. We still stayed in Grenada for part of the time, however for practically 3 weeks, we headed off on an island hopping journey!
June – July (St. Vincent & The Grenadines)
The Osprey Ferry was our mode of transportation to take us from Grenada to the next island north, Carriacou. We were greeted by a stunning beach, fascinating streets as well as friendly people. After 2 nights there, we were off on a cargo boat to our next island, Union (which is part of the island nation of St. Vincent & The Grenadines).
This rugged, unpretentious island was fabulous. We explored different beaches as well as lookout points as well as satisfied some truly great regional people. Our stay at King’s landing hotel was incredible as well as we liked the personnel members there. But, one of the most fascinating things we did during our stay was to go to an island bar found just 100m off shore, constructed out of conch shells! Needless to say, the rum punch was streaming as well as it was a extremely delighted Island indeed.

Our final destination on our 3 week island hopping trip was Bequia, the second greatest in the Grenadines chain. This was where we celebrated my 30th birthday in style! We wandered the lovely seaside pathway at Admiralty Bay, ventured over to Princess Margaret Bay as well as strolled around Port Elizabeth. My actual 30th was spent at the beach with dinner at the charming shop Sugar Reef Hotel. The chef prepared a tasty meal for me as well as the personnel all sang their version of delighted Birthday!

July – November (Grenada)
We truly took pleasure in our second half of the pet-sitting job, even a lot more so than the very first half. November – December (Mexico)
Back in Mexico! Our journey from Grenada to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico was long as well as freezing cold. The airports as well as the airplanes were a few of the coldest we have ever experienced – either that or we were just so utilized to having no air-conditioning in Grenada that it felt chillier than it really was.
